TRANSFORMING HIV RESENTMENTS INTO VICTORIES EVERLASTING SUPPORT SERVICES Incorporated (THRIVE SS Inc) releases a new wave of the iTHRIVE campaign: “Duality” – a self- love and HIV acceptance campaign on – 30th Observance of World AIDS Day.
iTHRIVE – The definition of meaningful involvement for men and women thriving with HIV to dispel HIV shame and isolation one picture at a time.
December 1, 2018 – THRIVE Support Services Inc. adds 13 new iTHRIVE HIV self-love and HIV acceptance campaigns to join more than 100 photos. iTHRIVE first released on December 1, 2015, with THRIVE SS cofounders, Larry Scott-Walker, Dwain L. Bridges and Daniel D. Driffin to break down feelings of isolation attached to an HIV diagnosis. “To release more than 100 photos, all created by Black same-gender-loving men openly living with HIV is revolutionary…” says Dwain L. Bridges. iTHRIVE: “Duality” was created from a conversation that “explores Black SGL men living with HIV are more than a monolithic community…” accordingly to Jon Gabriel Ortiz, Creative Director of iTHRIVE: “Duality.” He go further with, “…these men have whole sides, intersections, outside of having HIV. If we plan to eradicate HIV stigma, we must accept each other as whole.”
World AIDS Day allow us to take a moment to reflect on the impact HIV still has across the world and demand a recommitment to investing in additional strategies to ensure all people living with HIV are receiving what is needed. These investments must include solutions steeped in meaningful involvement for people living with HIV (MIPA). THRIVE Support Services is grounded on this foundation and continues to infuse MIPA into all initiatives within the organization. Until all impacted communities reach 90% of people living with HIV in medical care, 90% routinely engaged with medical providers and 90% achieving viral suppression THRIVE Support Services will continue to fight.
THRIVE Support Services Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit agency that provides support and linkage to culturally affirming and compassionate care services for Black same-gender-loving men living with HIV.
